10 months old

Ok, so I am a little late... once again!
Alexander Daniel,
You are simply amazing! There are no truer words!
You are 10 1/2 months old now and your development continues to amaze us. You are now crawling on all fours, pulling yourself up on everything, and cruising the furniture like a pro. You say a few words (well, mommy thinks you do) like mama, dada, nana and mo-wa (more). You have learned to clap your hands, wave bye-bye, give wet, sloppy kisses and cluck you tongue. You are stellar when it comes to napping and going to bed. Bed time usually comes at 8pm with a quick nurse, a book, some Celine Dion Miracle and Bo-bo in hand you put your self right to sleep. Although you are still waking anywhere from 5-6 am for a nursing you quickly go back to sleep and are there until as late as 9:30 sometimes.
You have developed quite the little personality and have no qualms about letting it shine. Although you are almost always happy and easy going, take the telephone or a lego away from you and you let us hear it. You love your brother to pieces and will quickly make your way to wherever he is, much to his chagrin. You continue to be a momma's boy and rarely will go to anyone else when I am around (I am dwelling in the, as I know this soon will pass). The smile you give me when I walk through the door after a day at work are absolutely priceless! You love your daddy too and give us the best belly laughs when he blows raspberries on you tummy.
Alex, although mommy hates to see you grow up (as demonstrated by her refusal to put you in size 3 diapers as of yet) each day is a complete and utter joy watching you develop and do new things. Just when I think it can't get any better you prove me wrong. Thank you for being you little man.

3. I take way too many pictures! And I love it, even if my boys don't.
4. I think my husband is simply the greatest and thank God daily for seeing us through the tough times.
5. I LOVE to run on cool sunny days in Seattle. And rainy ones!
6. I eat way too many sweets, it's my weakness.
7. I have the two cutest boys in the whole world.
8. But, I still want a girl.
9. I LOVE my job, even when it breaks my heart.
10. I know I don't have the most friends but the ones I have are pretty darn awesome!
11. I know I have done a good job parenting when we are at a restaurant and my 5 year old breaks out with all his please's and thank you's... without having to be reminded.
12. I love a clean house, event hough mine never seems to quite get there.
13. There is nothing better than having fresh cut flowers on the table.
14. I could not be where I am today without the help of my parents!
15. I love my family... even when I don't :)
16. I have been blessed with wonderful in-laws. (How many people can say that?)
17. I hate to see my children grow up and wonder when I will stop wanting to have a baby forever in my arms.
18. I love hearing the word Ma Ma come from my wee ones mouth.
19. I am eternally optimistic!
20. I know I am not always the perfect mom, wife, friend, daughter or sister but I am good enough and that is just ME.

5 years ago today...

You made us parents!
Tyler,
Today you are 5 years old! You are an amazing, loving, outgoing, compassionate, competitive, creative, lego-loving, smart little boy... and we couldn't have asked for anything more. You continue to amaze us with your constant inquiries and explanations to all life's events. You have a lust for learning and for life that is truly amazing. We love you more than we ever thought we could. Thank you for being our son.
Happy Birthday Bugs!

Before you were conceived, I wanted you

Before you were born, I loved you

Before you were here an hour,

I would die for you

This is the miracle of love.

Don't tell me you have never thought about it...

The funniest thing is that he was happy to get his picture taken in front of the fire station.
Sorry Tyler, we couldn't help ourselves.

Bugbee Family Vacation Part III

After a busy day at Disneyland we stopped by for a visit with my Aunt and Uncle in Newport Beach. We took advantage of Alex's nap time and headed down to Balboa Island for a walk and chocolate dipped banana... and Starbuck's of course. This was a favorite destination of mine growing up! Tyler seemed to enjoy it as much as I did.

Thanks again Aunty Anne and Uncle Bob for the fabulous dinner among adults. It's not very often that we get to indulge like that!

Bugbee Family Vacation Part II

DISNEYLAND

The Bugbee family hit Disneyland and had a blast (despite the mere 2 hours of sleep that Dan and I were going on due to one certain very noisy air conditioner). Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! We did as much as we could in one day. Tyler was a superstar and went on every ride that we threw at him. Of course the day started out with Star Tours. Would you expect any less?

Next Alex got to try his hand at his very first ride. Roger Rabbit meet Alex. I am not so sure he wasn't a little overwhelmed by it all. What do you think?

The highlight of the trip was most definitely Tyler's participation in Jedi Training. Never have I seen such a happy almost 5 year old! It was as if he had died and gone to heaven being able to do battle against the evil Darth Vader. Little did they know that that day they made all the dreams of this little boy come true!

Dan and I decided that there was far too much to do to take a break. Both boys (as well as Dan and I) rallied and we hung out at the park ALL DAY! Alex took a few cat naps in the stroller, but he was much to interested in all that was going on to really sleep.

We can't wait to do it again! There was so much we didn't get to. The best part was that we were all so tired when we got back we slept like rocks despite the rattling coming from the ceiling every 10 minutes when the air kicked on!

Bugbee Family Vacation Part I

Well, we made it... and it was great!
The Bugbee Family started out their much needed family vacation with a visit to beautiful Palm Springs, Ca. There we played, swam, golfed, slept, hiked, shopped, practiced some photography skills and most importantly relaxed! The boys did great on the plane and continued their great behavior through the trip. As it turned out we didn't have to put Alex in the bathtub as originally thought. We brought our pack 'n' play and he had his very own cave in the laundry room.
Tyler and Alex loved the pool and the weather couldn't have been more perfect for it. We can't wait to go back!

When on vacation with children you make do. This was Alex's highchair for the stay... he was tied to the chair with his sun hat!

Stay tuned for the Disneyland portion of our trip. I have to take a break to play lightsaber's with my little padowan!
