Tyler talk...

Daddy Luvins'

This Memorial weekend we spent it with our great friends Jeff and Lauren in Lake Chelan. The weather couldn't have been better! It was 3 days of sun and fun for all of us. Tyler was exhausted from all the activity and lack of "great sleep" so he is now catching up in the jogging stroller after I took him out for a run. Makes it easier for me to get a few pictures downloaded before he is attatched to my hip again. Anyhow, despite the little to no sleep, he had a lot of fun and only had a few breakdowns. Highlights of the trip were swimming in the lake with the doggy's (and his snorkel gear!), visiting the local fire department, go cart racing with daddy (Dan and I both agreed that the $7 was worth it to see that smile on his face) and put-put golfing (Uncle Tom would be proud!).

Tyler-isms of the weekend...

Sounding very frusterated as he was trying to get to sleep with a stuffy nose, "Mommy, my nose not working!"

And the ever constant "To infinity and beyond! I Buzz Lightyear!"

"Mommy, why I can't fly"

And the infamous "Mommy, why is the sky blue?"

Mommy's off to Chicago!

This is the first time that I have left Tyler for any length of time. It was hard, really hard. Although I was so excited about going, I had my reservations about leaving my little guy for 5 days. Not because I didn't think that Dan could handle it but rather because I knew I would miss him. Thoughts go through your head like, will he remember me? Will he think that I am gone forever? Well, no, he didn't forget me. In fact, he apparently asked about me frequently and wanted me home "now!". In one of our conversations he asked me... "are you taking good care of all of the sick babies?" (I guess he was just assuming that I was working one very long shift :)) As hard as it was, it also made me feel good. It made me realize that no matter how much he acts out or disobeys me, he really does love me and want me in his life. Let this be a lesson to all moms. Sometimes a little time away does a lot of good!

Look what Tyler did at school!!!

Okay, so this may not be a big deal to all of you but it is for me! Tyler has begun to draw people. I couldn't believe that this drawing that he brought home from school was his. I asked him over and over who drew it and he insisted, over and over, that it was him. I then asked him what it was. He replied "this is me, and this is you and this is daddy. Daddy doens't have a face yet." It was so like the books say it was unbelievable. The people with heads and limbs is the first step in drawing people. My little boy is growing up!
(I will leave out the part about where the nipples are!)
The things that we get excited about are pretty crazy huh?! I just had to share this one.

Our little Politician!

It's been awhile since I have updated. Our lives have kept us beyond busy to barely functioning. We are all eagerly awaiting the summer although that doesn't seem to be offering us much hope of a reprieve either. Tyler is growing like crazy (literally... he has moved into a "big boy" carseat) and the things that come out of this kid's mouth continue to amaze Dan and I. He is officially our potty mouth monitor. And believe me, he will let you know when you have said something that is not "acceptable". Today while I was driving in the car with my sister we were talking about a bike that didn't work and I let the "stupid" word slip. He promptly jumped in and said "Mommy, we don't say 'tupid" Hmm... I wonder where he gets that from?
Here is what happens when you leave your kid with Auntie Lauren and Uncle Jeff too long...

They turn into a democrat. Tyler now proudly marches around the house chanting "Go Bama!" after attending the democratic caucus with Lauren and Jeff. Boppa has now coerced him into say "Go McCain!" He is a pretty good flip flopper depending on who he is with. Anything to get the attention.

Isn't he handsome!!!!

I couldn't help but to post this...

Dan and I normally put Tyler down around 7:30, he starts his studying and I clean up and read a little. Around 11pm Dan always checks on Tyler and turns off his lamp before coming to bed. Last night Dan went in to check on the little man and found him sound asleep, all the drawers of his bed open and a pull up on his head. He quickly called me into the room when we pulled back the covers to find that he not only had them on his head but over his jammies and on his arms to. We couldn't help but to laugh... a lot! Tyler woke up with this look on his face as if to say "What the hell are you laughing at?" He quickly realized what he had done and gave us a little chuckle before rolling over and going back to sleep. Man, what a crazy kid we have. I just LOVE him!!!

Happy Valentine's Everyone

"I yuv everyone 'cause it balentine's day, mommy"

Tyler had his very first Valentine's Day party at school yesterday. He was so excited to tell me about it that he could barely get the words out (literally!)
