Tyler J

Tyler James,
Today you are 7!  I am not gonna lie, I'm a little in shock.
I am pretty sure I had this sweet little 5 pound 13 ounce little baby boy

then I blinked and I had this...

... a wonderful, smart, energetic, curious, handsome 7 year old.
On this day every year I am thankful for the most wonderful gift you could ever give me...
you made me a mother.
I love everything about you.
I love that you ask so many questions I occasionally have to ask you to be quiet.
I love that you LOVE your brothers.
I love that you are the goofiest kid I know.
I love how you look up to your dad and want to be just like him.
I love that you are so caring that while playing sports, though you may get rough and knock someone down, you will always make sure they are ok and help them up.
I love that you always try your hardest.
I love that you want to be the best at everything you do (hmmm, I wonder where you got that from?).
I love that you still love your Lego's and Star Wars.  Afterall, we have enough of them.
I love that you have such a wonderful relationship with your Nana and Boppa.
I love that you can't stand hearing G baby cry.  You will do anything to get him to stop.
I love that you can tell when I am having a rough day and will always ask me what's wrong.
I love that you still love me even when I have my "bad mom days".
I love that every time I turn around your pants are half way up your calf.
(Ok, I am lying.  I actually hate it that you are growing up so fast, but I do love shopping!)
I love that, given the choice on a friday night, you will always choose to watch The Clone Wars with Dad.
I love that you want to know EVERYTHING.
I love you, because you are you.

You are half way through your first grade year and doing great.  You made it through 2 soccer teams, basketball and now you are on to baseball.  I love to see how much you have matured in the last few months.   Although you do love when you score a goal, make a basket or hit a home run, you are now getting better at handling the disappointment when you don't.  I know this is hard for you and I am so proud of how much you have worked at this.  You have just finished skiing for the season and have far surpassed me in your skills (I know, it doesn't take much).  You have been known to frequent the black diamonds.
You are now reading!  We spend each night listening to you read and then reading to you.  You and daddy just finished the third Harry Potter book.  You graciously decided to take a break from HP so that I could read you James and the Giant Peach.  I love our reading time.
You desire to learn is insatiable.  You want to know everything, and I mean everything.  You frequently ask me questions that I have no answer to and we have to google them.
You are the BEST big brother ever.  You love your little bro's, even when they annoy the heck out of you.  I love watching you help them grow and learn.
You challenge me to be a better mom everyday.  For that I am grateful.  You have taught me patience above all else.  I love every last bit of you, Tyler James.
I can't wait to see what the next 7 years bring.
